The collector coins issued by Latvijas Banka in 2020 have received several prizes at international competitions.

22 countries competing in 9 nominations participated in the XV international coin contest "Coin Constellation – 2021", one of the biggest coin contests in the world, organized by Water Mark Publishing House (Russia).

The coins of Latvijas Banka received prizes in the following nominations:

  • "Linden Leaf" – winner in the nomination "Unique concept".

           Author of the graphic design: Mārcis Kalniņš; author of the plaster model: Ligita Franckeviča;

  • "Modernism in Latvia. The 1960s" – winner in the nomination "The best artistic solution".

           Author of the graphic design: Sandra Krastiņa; author of the plaster model: Jānis Strupulis;

  • "Personal Freedom" – shared the 3rd place in the nomination "Silver coin of the year".

           Author of the graphic design: Beate Šņuka.

In the VIII international contest "Nexofil & Nexonum Award 2021" taking place in Spain, the coins of Latvijas Banka were awarded prizes in the following nominations:

  • "Modernism in Latvia. The 1960s" – winner in the nomination "The best design coin";
  • "Linden Leaf" – 2nd place in the nomination "The most original format coin".
  • "Linden Leaf" – 2nd place in the nomination "The most innovative coin".
  • "Personal freedom" – 2nd place in the nomination "The best silver coin".

At both contests, an international panel composed of experts from different countries and fields evaluate the coins.
