About the artist

Beate Šņuka is a Latvian designer who lives and works in Riga (Latvia) and Eindhoven (the Netherlands). Upon completing her studies at the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2014, she established her own design studio. Since then, she has undertaken both commissioned and self-initiated projects. Her works have been published in design and interior magazines, including ELLE Decoration Italy and vtwonen. The designer has also participated in several design fairs, such as Salone del Mobile Milano, the Dutch Design Week and the London Design Festival.

Beate Šņuka draws inspiration from both the contemporary craft and the industrial architecture. Her key sources of creativity include scale, proportion, material properties, and context. The designer's work is characterised by clean lines, minimal details and effortless clarity. One of her main goals is to create beautiful and lasting works that are functional, meticulously designed and convey a unique message.
